Formed in Madeira in 1988, PortoBay Hotels and Resorts has become one of Europe’s most prestigious hotel groups. Still small enough to care about the details, our philosophy of Product, Promotion and People has helped us to create a collection of successful hotels in Madeira, mainland Portugal, and Brazil.
The group, created by António Trindade, Michael Blandy and David Caldeira, have a portfolio of properties in Madeira - The Cliff Bay, with its sister hotel Les Suites, The Porto Santa Maria Hotel, PortoBay Serra Golf, and Vila Porto Mare (includes Eden Mar, Porto Mare and The Residence), all with unique characteristics. In The Algarve we have PortoBay Falésia, and in Lisbon and Porto we have matching 5 and 4 star hotels: PortoBay Liberdade and PortoBay Marquês in Lisbon, PortoBay Flores and PortoBay Hotel Teatro in Porto.
In Brazil we have 3 hotels, PortoBay Rio de Janeiro on Copacabana Beach, the quiet retreat of PortoBay Búzios, and the elegant boutique L'Hotel PortoBay in Sao Paulo.
